CapeMEN March 2021 Fishing Tournament
Calling all Cape Men! Or just if you love to fish or just love to just be out on the water, then this is the tournament for you!
How will this ever work? Merging saltwater and fresh water fishing into one week long tournament? Blasphemy!
We have paired fish together than can compete in length. You will have 8 slots to fill with a mixture of any fish species with the goal being total length.
Here are a few new things you should know!
· All fish will be turned in via the free app & website, Tourney X, if you fished last year you can use your same account, if not you will need to create a profile which you can do so here: https://tourneyx.com/app/register/angler
· This is a length/picture tournament, so most cumulative number of inches wins. Weight doesn't matter.
· The tournament is a week long. It starts sunrise (6:00 am) of March 13th and ends at 9pm on March 21st.
· Registration is $30. Card only accepted.
· For you to register, you need to sign up for a FREE Tourney X account if you do not have one. We will be adding your name and email to the tournament a couple days before open, and we will send you the password to join the tournament and your access code will be available to you the night before the tournament starts.
· Keep catching fish and submitting them through the app, we will take care of the rest.
· We will have a side prize for the biggest overall fish that will be separate of the 8 fish tournament total. Just make sure you have your Tourney X number in the picture and way to measure it!
Rules
1. NO CHEATING!!! Cheaters take away all the fun. If caught cheating, the participant(s) will be banned from the tournament and all future tournaments. The participant will also be banned from participating in any related tournaments in the future.
2. You must follow all F.W.C. and Florida state fishing and boating regulations as you fish. Obey the law, no illegal fishing. If you fish in another state, please obey their laws!
3. You can fish using any legal method of your choosing. By boat, wade, kayak, SUP, shore, pier, artificial, live, fly, etc. (Long lining, snag fishing, spearfishing and cast netting game fish is ILLEGAL)
4. Your specific code must be in the picture when taking your submission picture.
Your specific codes will go out via email the night before, that need to be included in the picture.
Where exactly should the code be placed?
Answer: Preferably on the middle, or above or below the of the fish. But anywhere where it doesn't affect the measurement.
5. You must use a measuring device with visible numbers.
The entire fish must be in the picture.
You must show the fish from lip to tail.
Do not cover eyes, mouth, or tail If your fish is bigger than your ruler you may lay the fish on your ruler board, get a thick tape measure and butt it up against your ruler. Make sure the tail is fully extended. Please take multiple pictures, and send us the best one.
Flattening or pinching out your fish tail is permitted.
Open mouths are permitted.
Lip must be at the 0 point of the measuring device.
6. You can submit up to 8 fish.
Fish can be of any species. There are many listed. If you do not know the species of the fish, or if it is not listed, check COARSE FISH.
The app will automatically use only your top 8 fish, so if you submit 8 fish and catch and submit bigger ones, it will put up your biggest 8 fish for you.
7. You can fish more than one spot
That's the beauty of this tournament. You can fish multiple spots and days to fill your 8 slots!
8. Please no sand bagging! Post your fish day of the catch.
You have 8 slots to fill. Keep hunting until you catch them, if you don't get them, but don't be that guy that hangs on to all of his photos until the last second. That's not fun, no one likes that guy. Don't be that guy.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What happens if I forget my code in the picture? Your fish will not qualify, it keeps people from posting old photos and taking the fun out of it. Your code doesn't need to be printed. You can write it on a piece of paper, you can write it on your hand. The TourneyX app actually will tag it in the corner of your photo if you add it.
Can I catch 4 bass, 2 catfish, 1 flounder, and 1 fresh water trout? Answer: Yes.
Can I catch 8 sharks? Yes. Your back is gonna hurt, but yes.
Will I get a refund if I don't catch anything. No, sorry. Keep fishing!
What happens if my picture is blurry and you can't see my board? We will not accept the fish, take multiple photos.
Can I use live or artificial bait? Yes! Both. Either. All. Just fish legally within your waters.
What happens if there is a tie? If there is a tie, we will place the person with the biggest single fish above. If there is still a tie, we will move to second biggest and so on.
Are these slots my local state fishing slots? NO! Absolutely not.
