2017 KBF OPEN - Kentucky Lake

Venue Host: Henry County Tourism Bureau and Paris, Tennessee merchants welcome kayak anglers, both KBF Members and non-Members, from across the nation to Kentucky Lake for two days of competition, 6:30AM-4:00PM on March 30 and 6:30AM-4:00PM April 1, 2017.
Eligibility: This event is for KBF Members and for non-Members, too
Tournament Director: Nik Brown
Eligible Waters: Designated sections of Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley. Remember these landmarks:
- Northern boundaries: KY Lake and Barkley dams.
- Southern boundary: I-40 bridge over KY Lake
- Eastern boundary: Mouth of the Red River just west of Clarksville
Prizes: First Place wins $10,000, minimum, with money paid to 10% of the field. Approximately 96% of Entry Fees are paid out in monetary prizes.
When 100 or more competitors register for a TRAIL Series Tournament, NuCanoe awards a Pursuit fishing kayak in addition to the First Place cash prize.
KBF BONUS BUCKS: KBF Members may also participate in KBF BONUS BUCKS, an optional contingency rewards program. Bonuses of $400, $300, $200, and $100 will be paid out to the top four ranking KBF BONUS BUCKS participants, regardless of overall rank.
In addition, KBF Sponsors are providing additional BONUS BUCKS bonuses totaling $4,700. Refer to the KBF BONUS BUCKS web page for qualifying sponsors' products.
KBF AOY Points: Competitors who are KBF Members as of the registration deadline earn KBF AOY points at this event. First place: 300 Points, and then points decrease with each step in rank to a minimum 60 for active participants. Registrants who do not upload a photo receive 30 Registration Points.
KBF -NC Qualification: 10% of competitors, at minimum 30, will be awarded 2018 KBF-NC qualifying slots. Non-members who are awarded a slot must join KBF within one week to retain their qualification. If a non-member declines to join, or if a KBF Member earning a slot has already qualified, then the slot will roll down to the next eligible alternate in rank.

Concurrent Tournament: Many OPEN competitors will also fish the KBF HOW Big Bass Brawl, which runs the last two days of pre-fishing and two days of OPEN competition.
