Our Janurary event for Honoring the Brave will be Sheepshead!

Format is non-motorized kayak, CPR(catch, photo, release), 10 fish aggregate.

Dates are January 1-30. 

$25 registration fee. 

Breakdown: 

$5 for tourney x

$1 for PayPal

$10 to prize pot

$9 to Honoring the Brave Team River Runner (501c3)

Prize structure: 

1st- 50% prize pot

2nd- 30% 

3rd- 20% 

General rules: 

All fish must be caught by hook and line via non-motorized kayak. Paddle or pedal driven only. 

Anglers must have valid fishing licenses for eligible species. 

Anglers must wear PFD at all times. 

Anglers must adhere to state and local rules regarding waterways and any restricted areas. 

Live bait and artificial lures may be used for saltwater tournaments. 

Measuring:

Bump board is required. We are not restricting the brand of bump board, just that the measurements be easily legible. If this means you need to trace them with permanent marker please do so. All quarter inch measurements lines must be visible or we will round to the nearest visible line. We will not score fish measured with anything other than a bump board. Any fish submission with another measuring device will be DQ'd. 

Nose of sheepshead must touch the end bump board. Mouth open or closed, does not matter...but the fish MUST have a natural lay. If you are holding the fish down do so by middle of fish. Do not cover up the head/eyes/gills.  Ensure the jaw/nose/head/gill plate is clearly visible. You ARE allowed to tether, strap, etc. You may have you fishgrips in the fish's mouth, but ensure the end of the bump board/nose/jaw are still visible in the submission photo. 

Submissions MUST have your tournament identifier code in the image.  Any submission without this identifier code will not be approved. You may write this code on an Honoring the Brave tournament identifier, paper, your hand, KBF identifier, TourneyX identifier...doesn't matter, just make sure it is in the image.

Honoring The Brave is the St Augustine Florida chapter of Team River Runner. TRR is a national 501c3 organization. It's TRR & HTB's mission is to provide all Veterans, First Responders and their families an opportunity to find health, healing, community purpose and new challenges through adventure and adaptive paddle sports. Once a month we aim to keep this mission going by paddling somewhere in Florida. It is our way of showing respect and giving thanks for what our Military and First Responders do for us on a daily basis. Come join us or tell someone who might benefit from this.
