Lovin' Every Day Online Fishing Tournament

Oct. 1st 6:00 AM - Oct. 31st 6:00 PM (Eastern)

Check out our website to learn more about what we do! https://www.lovineveryday.org

On September 12, 2017, Matthew LeMoyne passed away at the age of 14 from Long QT Syndrome.  Matthew had a love and passion for fishing, which is the inspiration for this tournament.  Our goal is to both honor Matthew and to help raise money to fund the foundation that was created in his memory.

The Lovin' Every Day Foundation is a non-profit foundation that supports families with heart conditions by empowering them with the knowledge and resources needed to live an enriched today and brighter tomorrow. Your donation will help to deliver financial access to AEDs and other related cardiac health needs, CPR and AED training, and the advancement of groundbreaking research and education to our communities and families in need.

Following Matthew's values of kindness and inclusiveness, this tournament is open to all who want to participate.  We are allowing participants to fish from any location and we have many types of fish that will count.  We thank you for supporting our journey to honor Matthew and help save lives!

Where and When

  • Online throughout the entire month of October. The tournament begins at 6:00 AM on October 1st and ends at 6:00 PM on October 31st. Fish may be caught and submitted at any time during this time period.

  • Entry fee is $35

  • Must register and create an account on Tourneyx.com

  • You may fish in any legal place no matter if it is private or public. You may fish from land, boat, kayak, or any other watercraft as long as a pfd (personal floatation device) is used to ensure safety on the water.

Who

  • Anyone is eligible to enter no matter what state you live in.

  • Kids under the age of 10 are allowed to combine with a parent and have their best five fish as a pair counted.

Fish Submission Process

  • Fish will be submitted through pictures through TourneyX

  • Fish will be measured to the nearest ¼ inch, rounding down.

  • All contestants will need some sort of fish ruler that measures to the nearest ¼ inch. These can be found on Amazon, at Walmart, or at other sporting goods and outdoors stores such as Academy, Dicks, or Bass Pro Shops. Examples of such measuring devices are shown below

  • Numbers will need to be visible in the picture so some boards may need to have the numbers outlined in a dark sharpie so they show up better.

  • Fish must have their mouths closed in the pictures.

  • An Identifier will be sent out the night before September 30th at 9:00 PM. The identifier is a code that MUST be somewhere in the picture of the fish. An example of what a correct fish picture submission looks like is below. The identifier can be written on a piece of paper or even on the back of a hand.

Rules

  • The species of fish that will be allowed are Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Spotted Bass, Shoal Bass, Redeye Bass, Crappie, Bluegill, Bream, and any other type of sunfish. This will be a freshwater fishing tournament only.

  • All fish must be caught from a fishing rod.

  • Each fish may only be submitted once. The same fish caught twice by the same angler will not be counted.

  • Live bait and lures are both accepted for this tournament.

  • The entire fish must be seen in the picture.

  • If you are fishing in public areas, you must have an official fishing license for your state. These can usually be purchased online. For example, in Georgia, licenses can be purchased at https://georgiawildlife.com. This is required by law. If you are fishing a private pond or lake you do not need to have a license.

Scoring

  • An angler's total score will be based on their best 5 fish. Inches will be added up at the end of the month and that will determine their final score.

  • We will be tracking the standings on the Lovin' Every Day Instagram @lovin_every_day_foundation

Prizes

  • Keep in mind we are a charity. Therefore our prize pool will be 25% of our revenue. After fees from this site and paypal our take is $28.50 per angler, therefore $7.12 from each angler goes to pay the purse.

  • We will have 3 prizes paid equally: (1) highest total of inches of their best 5 fish added together for MALE, (2) highest total of inches of their best 5 fish added together for FEMALE, (3) biggest fish

  • Example, if we have 50 anglers the prize purse is 50x$7.12 ($356), or $118.67 per winner
